As the director of the tissue typing laboratory of the Beilinson Hospital, Rabin Medical Center in Israel, Dr. Israeli is responsible for all immuno-genetic diagnostic testing of all organ and stem cell transplants carried out by the Clalit Health Services organization in Israel. In addition he serves as the quality manager of the Bedomayich-Chayi public cord blood bank in Jerusalem. Dr. Israeli has a PhD in transplant immunology from the Bar-Ilan University and has completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands. He has presented lectures in multiple international meetings and has received several awards in his field of expertise, such as the J. Marilyn McQueen Award for outstanding scientists on behalf of the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI), The Wolf Foundation Scholarship for outstanding researchers, and others.
