Umbilical cord blood is being collected and used around the world for life saving transplants and regenerative medicine transfusions. Many private banks store more than just umbilical cord blood – they are sometimes referred to as “Bio-Banks.” Parents can consider preserving their newborn’s cord tissue and other perinatal stem cells that are otherwise thrown away as medical waste. Sometimes private banks even sponsor public cord blood donation programs and in this case may call themselves “Hybrid Banks.” Now you can find the private bank or public donation program that fits your needs and geographical location worldwide.
We are proud to partner with many global banks (both public and private) in expanding cord blood education, research and providing factual information, so expectant parents can make a wise and informed decision for their newborn, family and community.
*The Cord Blood Community is growing everyday. As a non-profit organization we have a small team but do our best to keep this list updated. If you know of a bank that is missing or see information that needs correction, please contact us. Thank you.
